Recent Achievements
James was named "Most Successful Artist" and awarded the Royal Agricultural Society Medal at the 2001 Royal Easter Show. He won both awards for the Asia Pacific and the Faber Castell Dry Open categories, and third place in the National Art Supplies Printmaking Open. According to James all credit for his success at the Show belongs to his art students and wife. "I like to enter exhibitions and competitions to encourage my students to do the same, but in this case it was my wife who entered work on my behalf."
His winning entry in the Asia Pacific category tiltled 'Cultural Interface' was inspired by many trips to Japan, China, South East Asia and the South Pacific.
